Oregon State Snowmobile Association
The Oregon State Snowmobile Association provides snowmobile trail grooming in the state of Oregon with a 100% volunteer effort. Our volunteers are out on the snow almost every day grooming the trails to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for snowmobilers, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and other recreationalists.
A typical volunteer grooming day begins with arriving at the grooming shelter before sunrise to get the equipment ready for the day. Not only do our volunteers groom the trails but we also remove fallen trees and obstacles from trails. In addition, we provide search and rescue assistance in emergencies. It's not uncommon for our volunteers to put in a 10-hour day grooming. It takes many, many hours of training to become a primary groomer. Our groomers are trained in first aid, CPR, equipment safety and maintenance.
