North Santiam Snowmobile Club Grooming Report

This past weekend OSSA sponsored an American Avalanche Association certified 1-day motorized companion rescue course and a 2-day motorized avalanche REC 1 course.  OSSA club members and USFS personnel were in attendance. The courses were held in the Newberry Crater Monument. Mike Duffy and Stephanie Cumming led the training and did a fantastic job coordinating a safe and informative event. OSSA is working hard to bring training opportunities to our club members.
If you're interested in this type of training, the Wallowa Avalanche Center is the only other motorized avalanche rescue training provider in the state of Oregon. OSSA has an avalanche page on our website that posts events and opportunities available in the state of Oregon.

Tonight’s club meeting is CANCELLED.
While it’s wonderful to get snow in our mountains, it’s as great on all the roads heading to Detroit. The wind and weather have brought some trees down as well.
We were looking forward to this fun meeting but it’s best to keep all safe.
We will see you all at the 1st Wednesday of February (2/7) meeting at 6pm at Wallery’s in West Salem.

Next meeting is in Detroit (Annual Saturday meeting). Please join us for Tacos!! 6 pm January 13, 2024. Held at Detroit Community Center.

Reminder for Saturday!
